NYSL Advanced Tryouts and Beach FC Travel Tryouts...Tryouts for the Fall 2009 season are set to take place during May and June for both our Advanced (Intermediate) and Travel (Highest level) programs. Travel tryouts with Beach FC are available for all players from U10 through U19 and offers the club’s highest level of play. For more information on Beach FC tryouts, please go to www.beachfc.com.
Advanced tryouts are available for all players from U8-U19 and offers the club’s intermediate level of play. The Advanced program aims to provide a higher level of play for our recreation players. The goals are fun, child development, and skill development. The Advanced program also serves as a bridge to the travel program with Beach FC. We encourage all interested players to attend tryouts. NYSL Coaching Education Information...In an ongoing effort to improve the quality of coaching across the board within our club and to subsequently improve the fun and excitement for all of our players, NYSL is moving to mandatory coaching education for all coaches, beginning fall 2009. The USSF “F” module coaching certificate course will satisfy this requirement for all Recreation Coaches, while the USSF “E” coaching certificate course will continue to satisfy this requirement for all Advanced coaches. NYSL TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES - Camps and Clinics
NYSL STAR Program
The STAR (Soccer Technical Academy - Recreation) program is designed for the Recreation player in the U7, U8, and U9 age groups. The program focuses on a different technical skill each week, and the players earn a separate patch for successful completion of each day's skill work and practice. STAR is designed to provide players with a technical foundation that will provide them with the freedom, confidence, and enthusiasm to have FUN while learning and playing the game of soccer over the long term. NYSL/Beach FC Academy
The Beach FC Academy is designed for the NYSL Advanced Player that wants to reach the next level of soccer involvement. The field player Academy is aimed at developing the technical ability of the U9 and U10 player in a competitive soccer environment. The goalkeeper Academy is designed for all U9-U16 Advanced Goalkeepers and is aimed at developing the technical ability of each goalkeeper. All participants receive a Beach FC Academy T-shirt and six weeks of training at Beach FC's official training facility at Shipp's Corner with the Beach FC Directors of Coaching. Read more >>
NYSL/Beach FC Spring Break Camp
NYSL and Beach FC are proud to offer our Spring Break Camp again this year from April 13-17. This year’s Spring Break Camp will be run by the Beach FC Directors of Coaching Karl Greaves and Gerry Sharpe, the Beach FC Executive Director (and former Beach FC Director of Coaching) Steve Danbusky, and NYSL Technical Director Kevin Knott. Our staff is enthusiastic about helping each individual camper reach his/her highest potential and enjoy learning about the game of soccer. NYSL Summer Camps
NYSL will be offering another series of Summer Camps this summer throughout June, July and August. As an added benefit to our players, this is an opportunity to continue playing over the summer months in a safe and educational environment. The focus is on fun and technical skills. Camps will include players aged 3 to 16. Coaches will include professional coaches, professional and amateur players, and local club and college players.
